Presentation of the innovative AI product “Cow Gazer” in Livno

Livno, Bosnia and Herzegovina –
At the Linnovate Business Park on Saturday, November 23, 2024 — the center of technological advancement and innovation in the region — the company Isaac Code d.o.o. from Sarajevo presented its latest innovative product: Cow Gazer.

This cutting-edge AI tool was designed to enhance livestock farming through precise monitoring, weighing, and analysis of cows’ health, behavior, and productivity.

The presentation was attended by farmers from Canton 10, one of the most promising regions for livestock development in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The event marked an important step forward in connecting traditional livestock farming with modern technologies.

What is Cow Gazer?

Cow Gazer is an artificial intelligence-based product that uses sensors, cameras, and advanced algorithms to collect and analyze data on the condition of cows. The system monitors key parameters, including nutrition, health status, reproductive cycle, and animal movement. The analysis results help farmers make faster decisions, reduce costs, and increase productivity.

Muhamed Avdić, CEO and Software Architect of the startup Isaac Code d.o.o., emphasized the importance of this project:

“Cow Gazer is not just a piece of technology, but a tool that transforms the way farmers operate. Our goal is to enable livestock farmers to optimize their resources and achieve better results through accurate data and analytics.”

Merima Topić Avdić, Product Owner, highlighted the outstanding team behind the project. From the very beginning, the research included Ervin Macić, a scholarship recipient and current student at Oxford University. Adnan Jelić, the lead developer, was responsible for the full stack development of the application and related services, and also led the live demo at the event.

During the development process, the need emerged to create a Cow Gazer prototype box, where all components would be integrated in one place.

The vision is to perfect this product — developed in Bosnia and Herzegovina — and bring it to other global markets as well.

Potential for Development in Canton 10

Canton 10, known for its vast pastures and strong livestock tradition, is an ideal region for the implementation of this product.

Farmers who attended the presentation expressed great interest in the product and decided to become partners in the further development and refinement of Cow Gazer, as well as future innovations that will simplify and improve farm management and operations.

Next Steps

After the presentation, Isaac Code d.o.o. announced plans to launch pilot projects on several farms in the region to further test and adapt Cow Gazer to meet the needs of local farmers. The results of these pilot projects are expected to be key in expanding this innovative product across Bosnia and Herzegovina — and globally.

This event once again highlighted the importance of investing in technology as a key driver for modernizing traditional sectors such as livestock farming. With the support of institutions and innovative companies like Isaac Code d.o.o., Bosnia and Herzegovina has the opportunity to become a leader in modern agriculture.

The project was also recognized and supported in one phase during 2024 by the European Union through the EU4AGRI project, aimed at modernizing the agri-food sector.

This investment is supported through the EU4AGRI project funded by the European Union, implemented by the United Nations Development Program in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Czech Development Agency. EU4AGRI is a four-year initiative (2020-2024) that aims to modernize the agricultural and food sector, create new jobs, as well as retain existing ones and support recovery from the crisis caused by COVID-19 in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The total value of the project, financed by the European Union, is 20.25 million euros, and it is jointly implemented and co-financed by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in BiH and the Czech Development Agency (CZD).
